First hour in Creatures of Sonaria

Leave the tutorial with a fed omnivore, a memorized food and water loop, and no token spent yet.

Before you press Play

The Mylo tutorial asks you to pick a starter, paint it, and then either continue or return to the menu. The free choices are Kaluaka, a sand-breathing all-terrain omnivore that can swim and fly, and Sochuri, a fire-breathing flier omnivore. Saukuryn, a giant heal-breathing flier omnivore, is only in the 199 Robux pack that includes all three.

Omnivores can eat plants or meat. A carnivore that cannot find a carcass will starve while you are still learning sniff. Read the diet on the creature card before you leave a safe spot.

Until the tutorial ends, a status blocks damage dealt, damage taken, and being nested. That protection is not a combat lesson. Use it to find one food source and one water source.

Controls that matter immediately

On PC, H sniffs. Sniff marks food, water, and nearby creatures, and M opens the map view of those sources. E eats, drinks, or uses a prompt. K opens the creature card: diet, tier, gender, health, damage, stamina, weight, and speeds. F toggles glide after a flier is already in the air.

Flight and takeoff spend stamina. Gliding does not. If stamina is empty, a flier cannot take off. A non-aquatic creature at zero stamina underwater takes drowning damage each second. Aquatic and semi-aquatic creatures do not take that particular drowning damage. Oxygen is a separate bar: when it empties, asphyxia damage is faster and can kill.

The first loop

  1. Spawn and face the nearest cover. Note which way other players are moving.
  2. Press H, then open the map and pick the closest food and the closest water.
  3. Fill both bars before you travel. Departing full is cheaper than sprinting back empty.
  4. Walk a short circuit: food, water, cover, spawn area. Repeat it until you can do it without the map.
  5. Sprint only to cross open ground or leave a grab. Sprint spends the stamina you need to escape.
  6. Do not lay down beside other players. Laying regenerates stamina at four times the passive rate and sitting at two times, but both increase damage taken and you cannot bite while doing either.

Herbivore food is grass, fruit, berries, seaweed, and algae. Meat is chunks on the map or a carcass. Photovores and photocarnivores drop a plant carcass, so herbivores can eat them. You cannot eat a piece of food while you are still holding it.

What alive time is worth

A creature that stays alive earns 5 Shooms every 2 minutes. Each region mission pays 4 Shooms. Those missions are worth doing when they sit on your loop. They are not worth crossing a crowded fight for.

If health hits zero, the slot can be revived with a Revive Token, restarted, or deleted. Restart wipes age and mutations. If you do not own the species, restart charges the male trial price, or ten times that price for a female. Slots lock for two minutes after a death so you cannot instantly revenge-spawn.

Save Partial Growth and Max Growth for a species you have already fed successfully. Partial Growth adds 33 age and cannot pass 100. Max Growth sets age to 100. Neither finishes Elder.

Done for this session

You are ready to leave the first area when the loop is memorized, both need bars have been filled twice, and you know the diet on the K card. Next, read growth stages before you chase a large carnivore.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What should a new player do first?

Finish the Mylo tutorial, choose Kaluaka or Sochuri if you want a free omnivore, sniff for food and water, and complete one short loop before you fight. Open the creature card with K and learn that creature's diet.

Are there working Creatures of Sonaria codes?

The redeem window is in the menu, but no code was confirmed active in late September or early October 2026. COSYEAR5 and COSYEAR6 are expired. Treat any page that still calls them active as out of date.

How do I earn Shooms?

A living creature earns 5 Shooms every 2 minutes, which is 150 Shooms an hour if it never dies. Each completed region mission adds 4 Shooms. Shoom piles, some death rewards, and trades are other sources. Players often call Shooms mush because of the old beta name and chat filters.

When does Trade Realm unlock?

You need at least 10 owned species. Open Realms from the main menu. Trading does not work in the survival world. A species and a stored trial slot are different trade items.

What happens when my creature dies?

You return to the menu and can revive, restart, or delete the slot. Revive keeps age and mutations but not Death Points, and it costs a Revive Token. Restart wipes the slot. If you do not own the species, restart costs the male trial price, or ten times that for a female. Storage slots lock for two minutes after death.

What is Elder?

At age 100 you can choose to Elder. The age bar then counts toward 200 and turns purple. At 200 you can Venerate. A Max Growth Token sets age to 100 and cannot age a creature to 200.
