How the age bar fills
Age rises over the creature's Growth Time. Stats scale up until they are complete at age 100. Creatures under 100 also deal reduced ailment, down to a floor of 15 percent of the adult value.
The age bar sits at the bottom right of the HUD and changes color with stage. These are the Recode bands:
| Age | Stage | What changes |
|---|---|---|
| 0 to 33 | Juvenile | Small model, weak stats, fast hunger and thirst. Some species cannot use a movement type yet. Momola cannot fly as a juvenile. |
| 33 to 66 | Teen | Age-based mobility limits come off. The model updates shortly after 33. |
| 66 to 100 | Adult | Age-locked abilities, including elemental breaths, unlock at 66. Rare age mutations can also appear around this point. |
| 100 | Grown | You may receive a growth mutation, and you are offered Elder. |
| 100 to 200 | Elder | The bar turns purple and counts to 200. |
| 200 | Venerated path | You are offered Veneration. Progress after that is shown as a percentage, not a raw age. |
What speeds growth
Eating the foods that grant Satiated speeds growth by 50 percent while the boost is up. Starvation or dehydration stops growth entirely and drains health. Migration zones add a growth boost while you stand in them. Some seasons, weather, day and night, and plushies speed, slow, or freeze aging. Check the status row rather than assuming every plushie helps.
A comfortable route is: fill food and water, get Satiated, move to a low-traffic pocket, and do region missions only when they are already on that path.
Tokens versus the mutation window
Partial Growth adds 33 age, refills health, hunger, and thirst, and cannot push past 100. Two of them take a juvenile to the adult band. Max Growth sets age to 100 and refills the same bars. It cannot set age to 200.
Growth mutations are rolled by surviving through the age window. Skipping that window with a token skips the roll. If you already token-grew a slot you care about, store it and grow a fresh slot if you want another mutation chance.
Revive keeps age and mutations. It does not keep Death Points. Combat logging drops the creature's age by 33, can count as a kill, and does not reroll mutations. An Elder logged under 100 stops being Elder until it grows back, and it returns to the same Elder choice. Logging is not a way to switch Elder types. Restarting the slot is.
Elder is a choice
Elder is optional at age 100. Veneration is optional at 200. Exact Elder bonuses should be read on the current choice screen. Do not build a plan on a video that names three Elder paths unless that screen still shows those names.
Nesting exists, and the tutorial blocks being nested until it is finished. Creatures with Egg Stealer can steal eggs, and scenting highlights eggs for them. A full resource table for nest upgrades is not included here because published walkthroughs of those costs were already marked for a remake.
